Top 10 Recommendations

Based on Highest Click Rate

  1. Bathtub Drain Cover For Filling Bath: “I love a bath, I can spend hours in them, and these come in handy for (safely) extending the drain in shallow NY apartments or hotel tubs. Those 2” make a big difference.” - Alex French Wholey

  2. Left on Friday Swimwear: “Designed for being active in the water, whether that's something cool like surfing or just dragging your kids out of the pool screaming when the lifeguards call break. Extremely comfortable, flattering, compressive fabric, that stays in place.” - Caton Morris

  3. ASRV: “They are probably a competitor of Alo but I really dig their branding and clothing. I have a few pieces. Mostly guys.” - Colton Soref

  4. Lululemon Commission Pants: “Guys, time to throw away your Banana Republic and J.Crew pants. The Lululemon commission pants are absolutely incredible. Stretchy, comfy, stylish, everything (everywhere all at once). They should replace almost every pair of pants in your closet. If you get overwhelmed when shopping at Lulu, let me break it down for you. Commission - these are your new work pants. You wear them with a tucked in button up shirt to work. ABC - these are more casual. You wear these on the weekends, bars, dates, etc. And finally, Joggers. These are worn in similar settings to ABC's, just maybe even more chill. My main focus for this rec tho is the Commission pants for work. DO NOT WEAR ANYTHING ELSE and yes you can fit the slims! I am thicker than every person reading this right now and I look fine in the slims.” - Remington Williams

  5. What To Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking Newsletter: “Each recipe is a one-stop shop: a complete meal. No more stressing over picking three different recipes that go well together, shopping for three different recipes, and then actually cooking three different recipes. No getting halfway through a recipe just to realize that the sauce has to simmer for four hours
when dinner’s supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. These recipes don’t compromise on quality, but utilize shortcuts and time-saving hacks to create complete meals in just minutes. No more scrolling around the internet for hours trying to decide what’s for dinner. I’ve got you covered.” - Caroline Chambers

  6. Grain Salad Recipe: “I am trying to eat more vegetable and less meat so keeping some grain salads in the refrigerator that are easy to grab or lunch or dinner. This article is keeping me busy --lots to try and a new one each week.” - Kathy Izard

  7. Zalto Wine Glasses: “Henrik loves his wine and these are the best to sip the liquid gold. Mouth-blown super thin glasses but dishwasher safe!” - Christina and Henrik

  8. Are.na: “Are.na is like Pinterest's hot younger sister. I find some of my most unique inspiration here. The experience is a little clunkier than Pinterest, but it's a newer platform. And unlike Pinterest, Are.na doesn't finance itself through advertising or user data collection which we love!” - Alexandra Fortune

  9. Chestnuts Roasting Christmas Playlist: “My meticulously curated holiday playlist, ChestNuts Roasting , might be my highest accomplishment. You won’t hear these indie renditions in the aisles of Tarjay.” - William Nutt

  10. Oofos: “I call them Oreos to keep it simple. I first saw these advertised as recovery flops for runners and picked up a pair when I was at the beach about 6 years ago (not a runner, btw). And although you look like a geriatric patient wearing them, your feet, ankles and knees will love you. Also, for a recovering rainbow wearer (thanks, Woodberry) and Chaco enthusiast (perfect for a spring afternoon hack-sesh in Sewanee), these kick ass. It's basically like walking on a cloud the Care Bears would live in.” - Stuart Bonner

My Personal Recommendations:

Written in my own words

🎧 Music Playlist: ‘Productive Work’ Spotify

The 1200+ songs on this playlist have funky EDM-ish beats. Once the playlist is rolling, I constantly find myself checking the name of the song because I like it so much. This playlist is extremely versatile. I can put it on when I’m trying to get sh*t done, on a run, or a long drive.

🙏 Habit: Custom Stationery for Thank You Notes

Handwritten notes may be ‘old fashioned’ but their impact is timeless. Inspired to thank your parents for a great Christmas? You are in luck. Get your on custom stationery and support a female-owned business run by my extremely talented wife. Check out If Its Paper 💚

🧂 Food Staple: Everything But the Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joes

This is an everyday product for me. I can’t eat eggs without it. Other than Cholula, the EBTB seasoning is the only thing in the kitchen we keep in reserves. Next time you are at Trader Joes throw it in the cart along with the Mandarin Orange Chicken, much better than any local Chinese delivery chicken.

đŸŽ€ Podcast: My First Million Podcast

Sometimes I listen hoping to find out that hosts Shaan and Sam have been outed as frauds because nobody can be this good. However, that has never been the case. The ‘pod’ has only gotten better and better over time. If you are the type that is always coming up with ideas (I can feel my wife’s eyeroll) or interested in unique business models, this show is for you. Check out my favorite recent episode.

đŸ—ș App: Google Maps

I have an addiction to Google Maps. When my wife sees me on my phone she assumes I’m “tweetering or looking at a random places on Google maps.” Well babe, how would we would have found out that the National D-Day memorial is in rural central Virginia? A few ways to unlock Google Map’s power:

  • Creating Maps: use this when trip planning so that you can save all the spots you’ve researched. See my West LA, Greensboro, and High County maps.

  • Reviews: when searching for a place to eat, filter by “Top Rated” and “Open Now”. Then, scroll to the review section which will surface the most mentioned words or phrases. As a former waiter at BrickTops in Charlotte, I can confirm that the “sushi” and “deviled eggs” are crowd pleasers; however, most never think to order them. Order like a regular.

đŸ„‰ Honorable Mention: Create a Gmail account for your children

If you have a kid, take 3 minutes to create a Gmail account for them. Once you’ve setup the account start sending their account pictures, stories, or advice for a special moment when they first log into the account years later. This also works great if you are engaged and your partner is changing their name. Surprise them at the wedding with a new account filled with love notes.

That’s all folks
if you made it this far, you are a mensch. God bless ya.
