Rambull Newsletter - I curate the best word-of-mouth recommendations from interesting people. A great way to learn about new people and to discover products, shows, apps, podcasts, and more. Edited by me, Rob.
**Bonus Content**
Rambull.co now has a section for each category of recommendations. A one-stop-shop. Can’t remember what Kacie recommended two months back to watch? Me neither but now I know it was The Pharmacist and I am hooked!
The premiere of “Take My Word For It,” the beta test of the Rambull newsletter in podcast form. My first guest is Sether Hanson. Scroll all the way down for the details.

“I write really easy, delicious recipes and find different ways to make money from them on the internet.” Caroline’s Website
Caroline’s Self-Description:
“North Carolinian turned Californian, mom and entrepreneur, always planning my next meal”
Why I wanted to profile Caroline:
She is the first person to be both recommended by readers (multiple) and also recommended within a Rambull newsletter! Kacie recommended her under the content to consume category: “She is hilarious and genuine, which is refreshing on Instagram. Also, her What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking Newsletter- helps a novice cook like me get inspired.” Sold? Sold.
I too can confirm that her newsletter recipes help novice “cooks”. I cooked a delicious meal from her website - “Cripsy Tofu and Cauliflower with Miso Peanut Sauce”. It was…..chef’s kiss.
Each section written in Caroline’s own words

Movie: Wet Hot American Summer (The Original)
Wet Hot American Summer. The original movie, not the Netflix remake. It's just so weird and funny and late 90s Paul Rudd is so hot. It immediately pulls me out of any slump I'm in. I can pretty much quote the entire movie, which drives my husband insane, which makes me love it even more.
On a completely different level, I also love a good PBS Masterpiece -- Downton Abbey, Sanditon, and Poldark are favorites. They're so beautifully, classically made.
Those were both pretty polarizing and I want your readers to like me so -- Tehran! We recently binged it (and there are new episodes coming out currently) and it's really high-paced and addictive.
🛒 Purchase
These $30 earbuds. I finally admitted that I am simply incapable of hanging on to Apple Airpods for an even remotely appropriate amount of time, so about a year ago I "downgraded" to this highly recommended pair on Amazon. They are more comfortable, have better sound, and are so inexpensive that I don't feel like a shit head every time I have to order a new pair. Which is often. I hardly ever actually read books with my eyeballs, I mostly listen to them using these.

Phone App: Libby
Libby. You just plug in your library card info and BAM, an entire world of free ebooks, audio books, cookbooks, magazines, etc. are at your fingertips! Just like a real library, you often have to get on the waitlist for really popular books, which I kind of love for the nostalgia of it. I remember my mom getting calls from the Forsyth County Library in Winston-Salem that her book was finally available, and she'd load us all up in the minivan to drive downtown and pick up her latest read. I get that same feeling of excitement when I get the email that my book is available for download.

Morning Hikes With The Little One
I hike with my littlest beast, Calum, every single morning before his nanny arrives. We live in the mountains, so this "hike" is really just a trudge to the top of the street we live on. But the views are absolutely beautiful, and every morning I think to myself how lucky I am to be raising my family here. I listen to my latest audiobook, spending the first few minutes of the hike rewinding and trying to figure out at what point I fell asleep while listening the night before, and get my dose of nature and endorphins before starting my workday.

Book: The Idea of You by Robinne Lee
The Idea of You by Robinne Lee was my contemporary romance gateway drug. I used to think that a book had to be complex and make me smarter to be worth my while. But TIOY opened my eyes to the paperback xanax that is a solid, well-written, smutty book. I'm not kidding, I am a better, less anxious human for discovering trashy books. Other recs for you after you devour TIOY: anything by Emily Henry, anything by Abby Jiminez, and the entire A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
🥉 Honorable Mention
I'm really into Ilia balmy tints. They just sent me a huge package of their products, which is probably the "influencer" perk that has all of my friends the most jealous. The "balmy tints" don't dry out your lips like a normal lipstick, they make them feel really nice and soft, but actually last a long time. I'm digging the Lullaby color as an every day, and Faded when I'm feeling kinda moody and like I want to look cool.

Improving Sentence Structure
Better writing. Everyone could benefit from improving their sentence structure. Including me and you. That is why I love this graphic from Nathan Baugh. It illustrates this point perfectly. Try it!
This Video Made My Jaw Drop…How?
Have you heard of the YouTube account “Primitive Survival Tools”? Using only, you guessed it, primitive tools, three men build a two-story villa with an underground living room and swimming pool. 😲 - almost 80M views and counting…
🎤 “Take My Word For It” Podcast
6 months ago I was living in Los Angeles. One of my closest friends came out to see me and meet our newborn son. He listened to me pitch the idea for a newsletter.
That friend was Sether.
Sether was also that friend that got a text from me at 10 PM asking if he would humor me by doing a ‘podcast’ for Rambull.
How did we meet? We met at Math Camp. True story. Hear more from two “people persons” and about Sether’s recommendations:
Listen to “Take My Word For It” with Sether Hanson. I’d love your feedback. If you just want his recommendations (boo!) check the image below in the episode notes. I love his habit recommendation.
