📝 Editor’s Note | Rob Belk
I am excited about a new piece of monthly content. My working title is the “Monthly Bulletin.”
I’m revisting past profilees and long-time readers to recognize creative projects and noteworthy launches, as well as to facilitate meaningful connections.
When I first began writing Rambull, I remember thinking I wanted to create something that brings people together. That feels trite, as most of the connections I facilitate are digital…
However, if someone featured is working on something that overlaps with your expertise, interests, or network, consider reaching out or making a connection that could help them move forward.
🤝 Connecting
Hard Knocks: Do you know a producer or anyone that works at NFL Films or HBO? Hannah Shatzen’s husband is hoping to connect with anyone who might be interested in his new single Raise Hail as a part of their Washington Commanders feature. If so, email Hannah a note at hhshatzen@gmail.com
Sunscreen for Golfers: I am can confidently say that I’m a loyal user of Magnolia League. I’ve gone through two cans of the spf 50 sunscreen this summer. Paul Landon, the founder, has generated some investor interest and is looking for guidance on how to navigate from folks that might have experience operating and raising money in CPG. You can reach him at: paul@magnolialeague.com
🏗️ Building
AI Tool: Colton Soref, recently launched Open Canva, which lets you enter one prompt and instantly compare results from the top AI image and video models, side by side. A really cool idea and worth joining the waitlist.
🚀 Launching
Muscle Recovery: After years of research, John Benjamin’s Rally Orbital Massage tool is now available. It is a game changing muscle relief tool designed to accelerate recovery, boost circulation, and deliver full-body relief. Gamechanger for tight hip flexors and lower backs.
Thank you for supporting Rambull and for helping to elevate others looking to do unqiue and creative things. And, of course, if you have updates you think would fit for the next Monthly Bulletin, please email me.
Without further ado….
Why Robin?
While I have been to Koh Samui (shout out to John Benjamin, Robert Culp and our post-college Thailand trip), I am not sure my path was destined to cross with Robin initially. However, I’m thankful to the internet and to Substack that our paths did. Robin reached out with advice and questions that I enjoyed. It was a no-brainer to ask him to be profiled and he delivered - enjoy a collection of truly unique and interesting recommendations.
Self-Description
Unboxable 100% free man. Critical thinker. Pirate. Outsider. Communication Explorer. Loyal friend. Born Rome, Italy. Abandoned city life, cars, telephone, TV, social media, stressed people running. Living on islands around the world since 2015. Always on the lookout for smartphone-immune people who are curious, ask many questions and listen attentively. Bruce Lee’s academy disciple. Earth Wind & Fire soul-mate.
Robin’s 6 Recommendations
Written in his own words…
1. Feet Gloves | Yuool ($109)
The most pleasurable sensation ever, when wearing a pair of shoes, came when I tried a pair of Yuool merino-wool shoes. Wow, my friend…it’s like entering the most comfortable, cozy place a foot has ever been inside. Fresh in the summer, warming in winter, I have never experienced something so good for my feet. And they look good too. I really can’t recommend them enough.
2. Alkavital
I have been using this unique mix of mineral salts from Dr. Claudii since the 80’s and have not yet skipped a beat. They are wonderful to keep your body alkaline, recharge your system and maintain a perfect electrolytic equilibrium. Good if you regularly train, great for the digestive system, the nervous system and the bones. Not easy to find but I always beg friends visiting from abroad to buy me a few and bring them over.
3. BGsub.com
Automatic background removal web app. 100% free. I use this all the time. No ads. No registration. Nothing is uploaded. It does its magic, locally inside your PC/Mac or smartphone.
Other Digital Tools:
Clipgrab: When I need to download a video from just about any website or get an MP3 of of a clip, I use Clipgrab. No ads, no registrations or logins. This is a downloadable software for PCs, Mac and Linux. Open-source. 100% free.
ClipgrabContent Finder Toolkit: A beautifully organized super-directory of 500+ free content resources to find news, content, images, music, sounds to use in your content.
4. Tufte Collection ($176)
If you have never heard of “Information Design” these books will open the doors to fascinating stories and examples of how challenging and rewarding it is to be able to convey history, ideas, wars and famines through visual diagrams and charts. Professor Tufte’s books are my ideal coffee table companions. They are majestic learning guides as well as always-ready conversation starters when you have friends over. Like good films and wine I never get tired of reading and looking through them.
5. Sam Youkilis & Vita Lenta
I avoid as much as possible to open Instagram and to scroll through it, but whether I like it or not, it is the only way I have to see what my grown-up kids are up to. I miss out a lot of their stuff because I refuse to bend to this mentality of “watch it now cause tomorrow is gone”. I rather spend a few minutes looking at the world through the eyes of those who first, do not publish only through ephemeral, fast-disappearing stories, and who make me see a world of real people, views and atmospheres not framed for maximum engagement.
6. Flow - Focus
I love to stay in the flow, for long periods of time, focused, concentrated on one task with no distractions. To blur out background noise while calming thoughts in my head I use a few little-known apps to dive into the perfect mind wave or to immerse myself in nature's beautiful sounds:

Bonus #1: Leg Bag $20
Since a few months I never leave home without wearing this groovy useful cowboy holster leg bag that holds all of my valued stuff: smartphone, glasses, lighter and smokables, one id, little money and a local ATM card. It has many pockets and an optional leg strap to hold it to your thigh.
Bonus #2: DMSO 99.9%
This very special tree cortex extract is a powerful solvent that has fast repair and analgesic properties that make it something I always have with me. Especially good for small injuries, it has been fantastic in resolving rapidly skin issues and many other problems. It must be mixed with water to be used.
Available on Amazon.com through different brands. Make sure it is pharma-grade 99.9% pure.
*This little reference book is a great guide on when and how to use DMSO

P.S. from Rambull — My wife got her younger brother this High Country Fishpond hat ($80) for his birthday. I thought it was really good-looking and a great gift for anyone who has someone who loves to fish, especially timely for summer.
Funny how everything connects. I’ve been following Robin for a while because of Good Tools NL, and seeing him featured here made me smile.
Thanks for feature all these people, Rob, each issue keeps me excited!
