Why Sam?
Sam and I reconnected after I posted about Rambull on Linkedin. I was excited to learn about his entrepreneurial work with Chispa House and AdPipe. We had lots to talk about - he is also starting a family, and has similar values and professional aspirations.
โI am fulfilled by connecting with people, solving problems, and living in the present. I enjoy jokes, food, sports, and live music. My faith and my family are my priority. I've spent the last 10 years working to make the 20's roar again and now it is go time!โ
Samโs Recommendations
Written in Samโs own wordsโฆ
๐ Podcast: Founder's
Every week the host reads a biography of an entrepreneur and provides a 45-75 minute recap of main themes and important quotes. I love quotes and I love learning about business. I recommend Jay-Z, Jeff Bezos Shareholder Letters, and the Kobe books
๐Food: Glide Pizza
Every time I get Glide, I feel like I'm the Ninja Turtles ripping into delicious gooey cartoon-level pizza goodness. There is sophistication in its simplicity. Crust carries a solid crunch. High quality house-made ranch. Great presence on IG (@glidepizza). Only in ATL at the moment but worth a trip during your next visit. I'm actually wishing I had a slice right now.
๐ง Digital Tool: ChatGPT
Go try it if you haven't already. This evolution of GPT will bring massive changes to marketing, education, software development, and more with it's in-depth ability to generate copy. I've been having a lot of fun testing it, thinking about applications to life today, and getting excited about how this technology will only get better with time.
๐ชWell-Being: Staying hydrated and staying loose
Life can be hard and there is no sense in making it any harder. I'll drink a tall glass of water first thing in the morning and usually carry around some form of refillable water container with me. I try to find 10+ minutes every day to stretch. Not always successful on these fronts but its always better when I am.
๐ผ Professional Tool: TurboScan
This one is boring, but TurboScan: It is a free app that allows you to scan documents and email them to yourself or others. Scanning is a lost art form but you encounter it in the world from time to time, usually over something important. TurboScan has been on my phone for 7 years and never failed me.
โ Travel: Milwaukee
That's right Milwaukee. I haven't done winter but summer season was incredible. It is a beer and cheese town with great parks. It is positioned right on Lake Michigan (similar to Chicago). The architecture is interesting, quality dive bars, friendly people, and very affordable. Book an AirBnb in BayView and don't miss their Saturday morning Farmers Market.
๐ Plug:
After 10 years of running of a film company, I created a motion-first marketing platform called AdPipe that helps organizations transition their online content from static to motion. We drive higher conversions and engagement through repurposing, repackaging, and reposting of video content.
AdPipe makes it easier for marketers to communicate the objectives of multiple business units across numerous digital channels by streamlining the creation and distribution of motion-first content.

Finals Hits from Sam
Recent passion: Motion. It is captivating and effective, yet hard to recreate online.
Ideal Saturday: A Georgia Bulldawg Victory
Hidden โGemโ: A handwritten thank you note.
Brand Loyalty: Jersey Mikes: They are a sub above.
Thanks Sam!
Are you having an โOh sh*tโ moment with Christmas 4 days away?*
Of course you are. Rob jumping back in to hook you up with a few ideas. No, you do not have to brave the mall nor do you have to worry about delivery times:
๐ท Wine Subscription: Wirecutter recommends WineAccess ($240) starting at 2 shipments with 4 bottles each. Run by the store and grab a bottle so they have something to open. The Strategist has a few cheaper options for subscriptions. Additionally, if wine isnโt their thing consider a coffee or meats subscription.
๐ป Concert Tickets: Check out the website BandsInTown. It will show you popular shows and venues in specific areas. For instance, if my wife is reading she could see that Billy Strings is playing in our area in March and she could theoretically buy us tickets using this link. Theoretically, of course.
๐ Staycation or Weekend Getaway: Book a nice hotel or AirBnB for a night or weekend away. In her profile Alex French recommended using Tablet Hotels (from the experts at the Michelin guide) to find boutique hotels.
๐ Spa Day: Gents, if you go down this route take my advice: DO NOT GET A GIFT CARD. BOOK AN ACTUAL TREATMENT FOR A SPECIFIC DAY AND TIME. If need be, they can reschedule but youโve shown that you put more effort into the gift. Do you think Iโve made the mistake of just gifting a spa gift card?
Hope Santa or whoever you celebrate is good to ya!
