I need sleep cheat codes.
Why? I have three kids under age four. And, as I mentioned a few weeks ago, friends that compete to see who can wake up at 5am.
Iâve spent a lot of time and dough to perfect my sleep setup. A personal mantra is to invest in any product you use daily (eg your sleep setup).
Iâll spare you any Patrick Bateman routines and focus instead on my âsleep stackâ.
Here are my cheat codes:
Moonbrew | Sweet tooth + sweet dreams, ideal combo. Even if its placebo I swear I sleep much harder. (Donât forget the frother)
Bedside Notepad | If I jot down ideas and stressors, I toss and turn less. Note - I like to take hotel notepads for this.
Reading Light | I sleep much better when I read a few pages of my book. My wife has made me go through several iterations to find the light that annoys her the least. This it it.
White Noise Machine âDohmâ | We have at least 5 scattered throughout the house. It has nostalgia for me as my mom has at least 5 too.
Coop Pillows | After going through several different types, this pillow is the brand that has stuck and we fight over.
Sleep Crown Pillow | Already plugged this in the gift guide. Not surprised it sold out during Black Friday.
Eight Sleep Mattress | Broken record here too; however, my wife wants me to mention that this was a game changer for her postpartum.
Earplugs and Silk Sleep Mask | I keep these in my backpack so I always have them when we are traveling.
Iâd love to hear from you. What sleep product is a âmust haveâ?
Why Ramp?
Bitsy Motley and I got connected through her friend Bess and her brother Johnny. Bitsy proposed a unique idea to profile her co-workers at Ramp. If youâve heard of Ramp before its likely because (A) you work at one of the 50K+ companies that use their services for expense management (B) youâve heard about its November valuation at $32 billion and/or (C) saw their viral marketing efforts with The Office or Saquan Barkley videos.
Thank you Bitsy for the unique idea and opportunity. Let me know what you think of this format. And, if you read about Ramp and think itâs great, click here or flood Bitsyâs inbox at Elizabeth.motley@ramp.com
Lastly, a disclaimer that this not a sponsored post, just an opportunity to do something different.

1. Founders Podcast by David Senra
Founders is one of my go to podcast recommendations for many reasons. I have listened for years, and it has been a great way to learn about the leadership styles and habits of notable leaders. David Senra, who created Founders, has also been a great friend to the Ramp team. It is definitely worth a listen. Although Ramp now sponsors the show, we genuinely appreciate how naturally David includes a Ramp mention within the script.
2. Eight Sleep
It is hard not to love Eight Sleep. The product is a mattress cover that adjusts temperature through the night to support better sleep states such as REM and deep sleep, and it has genuinely improved my rest. I met CEO and founder Matteo Franceschetti through Y Combinator, and I am a big fan of the leadership team and the goals they are pursuing.
Bitsy Motley
Spending my work days pretending I know about college sports and that I instinctively answer to the name Elizabeth.
1. âThe Best One Yetâ aka TBOY
A few friends told me to listen to this podcast, and the first time I did I could not stop laughing. The podcast is less than 30 minutes and Nick and Jack, the hosts, talk about 3 need-to-know business stories but then end the pod with one random trivia fact that is shockingly always interesting. It is an easy and fun listen, and I always enjoy the pod.
2. LaLigne Colby pants
These have become my go-to pants for pretty much everything. They feel like sweatpants but somehow still work for the office, dinner, or tbh anything. They also travel exceedingly well and donât wrinkle (I have the crepe and satin, so this might not be the case with linen). The only downside to the pants is that I have to hem them. But if you were given the gift of height, this wonât be an issue for you.

1. Create Gummies
As Iâve gotten older, Iâve looked for ways to add health supplements into my daily routine. I tried the creatine powder route, but it never stuck. Then I got put onto Create Gummies and have been hooked since. They taste great (feels like I get to eat candy in the morning) and deliver real physical and cognitive benefits. Theyâre also easy to take on the go, which has been a game changer since Iâve been traveling more for work. Pro tip - Toss them in the freezer if you want to change things up a bit.
2. Vouri Bank Short
I spend a ton of time at the beach and in the ocean, and I wear the Vuori Banks short pretty much all summer. Theyâre the perfect mix between a bathing suit and athletic shorts, which makes them just as good for the beach as they are for running around. I usually spend the entire year rotating between different pairs, and theyâre great to pack for trips.

1. Breville Barista Express ($499)
I love my espresso machine the Breville Barista Express. Itâs not inexpensive (~$500 if you buy on sale) but the machine makes really great espresso. At the same time it is not so fancy that I turn into an insufferable East Bushwick, La Marzocco-bro vibe. You definitely donât need the $7,000 machine to make great espresso. Highly recommend this product.
2. Eto Wine Decanter ($209)
I love wine, but I donât want to open a full bottle. And honestly, I canât drink like I used to. But this Eto wine decanter lets me have a single glass and save the rest. High-level how it works, you insert the device into the bottle of wine and it keeps the wine fresh for a week or two. Itâs the perfect solution, especially now that Iâm a dad

From the Ramp teamâŚ
Every company can benefit from running on Ramp. Ramp will give you and your team back the hours spent on manual finance tasks, and strengthen your bottom line.
Work somewhere that isnât on Ramp yet? We can fix that.
Know a company that could? Great, send them our way.
Have a connection with a professional sports team or university? Very much up our alley

Want to learn more? Hard to say no. Use this Rambull Landing Page, and we will route you to the right person. Weâre incredibly excited about the work weâve done with professional athletes (Brooks Koepka, Saquon Barkley), star college athletes (Nate Ament), Athletic Departments (University of Tennessee) and professional sports (Denver Broncos, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Blackhawks). If you are a sports fan (who isnât?!) and we would love to touch base live to tell you more about how we are tackling this space.
Pictures below of our inaugural college sports weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee where we solidified our partnership with the University of Tennessee Athletic Department and signed our first college athlete (shout out to Nate!)
P.S. from Rambull â One of the more unique recommendations came last week for Pack Up + Go, a service that surprises you with a travel destination and itinerary. Turns out that Eric Tribe, the co-founder of Journee, reads Rambull.
Eric reached out to share this about his company:
âJournee plans surprise trips matched to your travel taste, so you only find out where youâre going at the airport while they handle all the planning (flights, accommodation and local experiences). Their mission is to help people challenge themselves more often - saying yes to something new, somewhere unconventional - and letting the world surprise them. All Journee trips are international and you begin from one of 28 airports across the US, Canada and UK.â
Who is brave enough to do this?
