Last weekend, through my job working on Call of Duty esports, we hosted 150 of the best Call of Duty Warzone players from around the world in London.
I came away with these thoughts:
The “highs” of a successful event feel so much better when you’ve had to endure “lows”. This is good perspective for me to remember next time I’m dealing with adversity at work.
I miss in-person interaction. I need to figure out additional opportunities to work IRL (in real life) with co-workers as I approach 3 years of remote work. The zoom fatigue is real.
Dishoom lived up to the hype. Indian cuisine traditionally ranks low for me but this was special.
I got to meet my friend Adam IRL for the first time (He lives in London). We connected online almost two years ago through our mutual interest in the MFM podcast and launching newsletters around the same time.

Why Grainger and Liddy?
My brother and sister-in-law! My family spends more time with these two and their daughter than any other people in our lives. Liddy is a compassionate teacher and Grainger, a general contractor, who can fix anything (very handy when he lives just a 5 minute walk away). While I personally like and use most of their recommendations, I am a bit disappointed Grainger didn’t recommend the subreddit that he is a huge fan of, r/woodworking.
Self-Description
High school sweethearts who love to end a great hike with a cold IPA. Parents to our 8 year old black lab and 9 month old daughter, Gray.

Our favorite from Serial and This American Life. John B. McLemore, resident of self-described "Shittown Alabama", contacts host Brian Reed about investigating the son of a wealthy family who's been bragging about how he got away with murder. But someone else ends up dead and the story becomes about something else entirely. Great road trip listen.
