Why Brandon?
The internet strikes again, connecting Brandon and me. Always a good thing when it starts with humility, āIām not sure Iām worthy of a profile.ā Time and time again, those that are humble and relatable seem to provide the most engaging responses. Brandon is no different and starts out with what I think is a really cool first recommendation.

Written in his own wordsā¦
1. Pack Up + Go
As busy, Type A personalities, we plan almost everything: our calendars, our careers, even our vacations. Surprises become rare.
Thatās why I love Pack Up + Go. Instead of choosing the destination, you hand over your budget and preferencesāand then you let go. You donāt find out where youāre going until the day you leave.
It feels strange at first, giving up control. But what you get back is wonder. You remember what itās like to be surprised. To show up at the airport with no agenda except curiosity. To trade efficiency for discovery.
In a world where everything is optimized, Pack Up + Go is a reminder: sometimes the best memories are the ones you never saw coming.
2. Ziggy Alberts
Ziggy Alberts is the rare kind of artist whose music works just as well when youāre in a packed concert hall singing along with thousands as it does when heās just playing softly in the background at your local bar. His sound carries intimacy and scale at the same timeāraw, heartfelt lyrics layered over warm acoustic energy.
3. Peach and Blue by Sarah Kilborne
This is a deceptively simple childrenās book with a profound lesson: real connection helps us see the world through new eyes. While Blue carries Peach beyond her small world to places she never could have reached alone, Peach shares with Blue the beauty in everyday things heās long overlooked.
Though written for children, the message deepens as a parent: our role is to both show our kids beauty and let them show us what weāve forgotten to notice. Every meaningful friendship is a bit of Peach and Blueāweāre all both the one showing and the one being shown. And great leaders do the sameāexpanding horizons while reminding us to notice whatās already in front of us.
The ending is especially movingāa reminder that presence matters more than permanence.
4. The Biology of Belief with Dr. Bruce Lipton
Dr. Bruce Lipton is a Stem Cell Biologist who pioneered the study of stem cells in the 1970s and in the late 1980s discovered the link between cellular biology and quantum physics!
This is a short 90 second clip of him on the Marianne Williamson podcast talking about his findings and the importance of our beliefs ā that they can impact our biology, as well as our inner and outer worlds!
Bruce Lipton is a teacher and champion of PSYCH-KĀ® - which a subconscious reprogramming modality that Iām trained in and use with myself and my clients.
He has a number of books and other media, if youāre interested, I recommend The Biology of Belief or The Honeymoon Effect.
5. The 2 & 2 College Savings Plan
We have two boys (15 and 12), and like many parents, weāre staring down the reality of college costs. As a financial advisor, Iāve been fortunate to save for them since they were youngābut weāve also built a family system to make it more than just about money. We call it our 2 & 2 Program.
The rule from day one: The kids save 50% of every dollar they earn or receiveābirthday money, gifts, work incomeātoward their own college fund.
Years 1 & 2 of college: They pay for tuition, room, board, and books. We cover discretionary expenses.
Years 3 & 4: We switch. We cover tuition, room, board, and books. They take on the discretionary sideāwhen bar tabs, social spending, and travel are generally higher.
Why this works:
It creates ownership. The kids are literally invested in their education.
It teaches budgeting and delayed gratification.
It allows them to build credit responsibly before graduation.
Bonus tip: Weāve also partnered with grandparents in a unique way. Instead of just writing checks, they create small āscholarship opportunitiesā for the boys. That might mean writing an essay, working on a joint project, or even just spending a weekend together. It gives the grandparents meaningful time with their grandkidsāsomething money canāt buyāwhile still contributing financially.
The 2 & 2 plan has become more than a funding strategy. Itās a framework for teaching responsibility, independence, and gratitude alongside financial literacy.

6. Pacaso
Luxury Home Ownership without the hassle. Having a young family we donāt have a lot of days to travel and donāt want to have empty house or have to work with renting it out for nights we arenāt there. Co-Own a 1/8 ownership of luxury houses with 42 nights a year to use. Easy to schedule share expenses and can sell at anytime. Bought a place in Colorado where we use it for Family (enough room to bring extended family) Friends (hosted 18 guys for a golf trip) and Focus (able to get away in own place to be away from daily life) . New ability to trade for one of their many other locations across the world is an added benefit
