Real people, authentic recommendations.
Welcome to the 40 new subscribers who joined us since last week. That is enough to fill a entire school bus or .052% of Bank of America stadium. Let’s go with school bus.
Word-of-mouth recommendations rock. I fixed an issue where it is now easier to forward this email to friends.
If you missed last week, your feet hate you. Two recommendations for new footwear. Two! Who splurged on Oofas?
Three thoughts I recommend you think about this week:
When looking at a menu, start with the entrees first. Making your entrée decision based around what appetizer you’ve selected often leads to regret. h/t Count Rostov. (h/t = hat tip)
Value your happiness. If someone cutting you off in traffic makes you upset or a co-worker upsets you by sending in something late - the value of your happiness is quite cheap. s/o Shaan Puri. (s/o = shout out)
But. Anytime you use the word “but” in a sentence you nullify whatever statement preceded the “but”. That is an interesting idea but I am worried it won’t work. Was it really an interesting idea? Once you start thinking about this it will change how you write emails, texts, etc. s/o someone I can’t remember, probably a twitter person.
Let’s dive in…
“Pro Farmer”, Wild Hope Farm
Why I wanted to profile Peanut:
She has graced the cover of a magazine, had Grammy nominated Maggie Rogers sing at her wedding, and left a comfortable job in Boston to manage her family farm. She made moving from the city to the countryside cool way before covid did.
Why is her nickname “peanut”? When she was a baby, she was so small that her parents started calling her “peanut”.

Saturday Night Live
I watch this every Sunday night, an amazing way to unwind and remember not to take yourself or life too seriously!
🛒 Purchase
Smith Sunglasses
I'm trying to buy fewer products, attempting to reduce the amount I spend / waste / clutter (we are living in my parents house) but I LOVE my Smith sunglasses and don't go outside without them!
📞 Download
Google Photos App
Great for sharing pictures of little ones without taking up space on your phone!
-
Pro Tip - you can easily order a photo book from the app. I recommend using the app to create a baby book. This makes a great gift for significant others and grandparents. The turnaround is also incredibly quick, perfect if you are in a pinch. - RB
💪 Incorporate
Setting Boundaries
I am working on setting boundaries between work and home life which can be challenging as I live on the farm that I help run and am constantly reminded of all there is to do!
-
This reminds me of a Tweet from @jdesmondharris:
I started dividing my to-do list into 1) things I have to do, 2) things I want to do, and 3) things other people want me to do. Life changing! I often don’t get to 3 and I finally realized omg, is this what it means to have boundaries?!
If you are a habitual ‘To Do’ list maker like me, give this a try. -RB
📝 Consume
Desert Solitaire, A Season in the Wilderness by Edward Abbey
An incredible reminder to slow down and celebrate the beauty in nature!
🥉 Honorable Mention
Home Gardening
Lately I've been addicted to adding to my home garden with fruit/nut trees and flowering shrubs. I highly recommend taking a trip to a local nursery if you have a yard with space to fill.

My Rambull - what I’ve been recently rambling about…...
I made an internet friend. And I’m pretty sure he is real.
His name is Adam. We became internet friends due to our mutual love of the the MFM podcast (if you haven’t listened yet - this is my favorite episode). I encountered him hustling for sign-ups by replying directly to the podcast host’s tweets, plugging his own newsletter. I DM’d him on twitter and next thing you know we’ve been regularly sharing feedback and suggestions on how to improve our newsletters.
If you enjoy business podcasts but don’t have 5 hours a week to listen to them all, Adam distills the top takeaways on top of his own analysis. My favorite piece from last week’s edition was on Product Market fit. There is one simple survey question gleaned from the “Entrepreneurs on Fire” podcast - “How would you feel if this product or service went away?” If more than 40% are devastated you know you’ve found it. Hopefully we are both building something that fits!
Check out his newsletter here - I highly recommend this newsletter for all the other ‘business self-help’ seekers like myself.
Are you enjoying Rambull?
If so, would you do me a favor and forward the newsletter to three people. You can copy this into your note:
“I think you might like this newsletter - each week new people are profiled and they share their top recommendations. A great way to learn about new shows, podcasts, and products. I am trying to help Rob grow his audience, you can sign-up using this link: http://eepurl.com/hY2Hnr”
